The Heyford is a new, boutique hotel, situated a short distance from Bicester, Oxfordshire. Built as part of the new Heyford Park estate in 2019, the Heyford combines its beautifully decorated 18 rooms with a two-lane bowling alley and ‘Baton’ - a state-of-the-art canopy restaurant, serving locally sourced produce to guests and the public.
For this project, Chris Lewis Group was commissioned to design and install an integrated fire, security and audiovisual system. This installation needed to cover everything, from music in reception to access control - all under one roof.
Hotel management needed systems installed to protect their guests and property from fire and intruders, while also providing peace of mind to guests.
The Heyford team also required an audiovisual partner to support them in creating a timeless, enjoyable experience for visitors. Alongside the fire and security installations, Chris Lewis Group partnered with Habitech - a specialist distributor - to design and install a state-of-the-art, multi-room sound system setup, a conferencing system and multiple screens - featured in the main bar area and in individual suites.
In partnership with Yamaha, and with designs from specialist AV distributor Habitech, Chris Lewis Group designed and commissioned a high quality audio system. This would be used for both background and party music in the sports bar. High quality pendant speakers were installed for peerless sound quality and dispersion. The audio source, zone and volume can be controlled easily by the bar staff from a mobile app or the portable touch screen provided.
The Master Deluxe suite was equipped with industry-leading smart home technology to create a first-class guest experience. With signature Control4 wall-mounted panels, alongside a Lutron lighting system, these rooms offer visitors a best-in-class boutique overnight stay. Lutron lighting lets guests change the mood of the room, alter brightness and turn off all lights with a single button when they're ready to sleep. The Control4 system and Smart TV means guests can stream video from their mobile phones to watch their favourite shows from their own Netflix, Prime or AppleTV accounts.
The guest room entertainment system needed to be suitably modern to match the hotel's fittings, fixtures and furniture. This meant casting functionality and a wide range of viewing content. We facilitated this with an Otrum Mirage guest entertainment platform that provides a new benchmark in functionality, with an API-centric platform and infinite design possibilities.
Guests are provided with the very latest video conferencing system to hire during their visit. The system includes “bring your own device” conferencing for Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meets. This includes an optional wireless presentation system available for small business presentations. The hotel can rent this out as part of meetings, and an ROI of just over 1 year was calculated from these hires.
Our engineers installed a bespoke, integrated, ultra-secure, security setup consisting of Verkada CM41 indoor mini domes, CB51-E outdoor bullet cameras and a Texecom Premier Elite alarm system. These systems would monitor every angle of the premises - whether management were on-site or on-the-go. The cloud-based CCTV platform allows them to quickly search for people of interest by description and receive alerts of unusual activity, from any internet-enabled device.
