Giving back to the community
As a proud Oxford businessman, Chris Lewis, CEO of Chris Lewis Fire and Security feels strongly about supporting local causes. The company has direct ties to a number of important organisations that deliver invaluable services to the community. We are currently supporting a range of charities and organisations within Oxfordshire – including the Ashmolean, Modern Art Oxford and Sobell House.
The charity has been delivering essential palliative care to patients and their families since 1976. It provides support to patients at home, in the Oxford hospitals, and in their hospice at the Churchill Hospital.
Sobell House offers physical and psychological care to those coping with life threatening illnesses, death and bereavement. Their team of doctors, nurses, carers, drivers and volunteers offer free care to those in need. Without the support and fundraising from companies and individuals, providing this level of service would be impossible.
The 40 Club
Comprising of businesses throughout Oxfordshire, the 40 Club offers an opportunity for companies to support the hospice charity. This year Chris Lewis Fire and Security has joined the 40 Club and has pledged that the company will raise £10,000 within the next four years.
Modern Art Oxford
As Chris Lewis Fire and Security is based in such a cultural city as Oxford, it’s an ideal opportunity to sponsor organisations like Modern Art Oxford. The gallery has showcased a wide range of exhibitions and given the public a chance to experience modern art up close. Over the years Chris Lewis has supported events at Modern Art Oxford, most recently sponsoring their 50th anniversary celebrations. The event involved an evening of celebration featuring performances, speeches, music and dancing. This is part of a year long series of interlinking exhibitions, performances and events, presenting an opportunity to look back on some of the great moments in Modern Art Oxford’s history.
Chris Lewis Fire and Security are also Corporate Circle members of the Ashmolean, which enables local businesses to support the historic Oxford museaum. By supporting the University of Oxford’s Ashmolean Museum, Corporate Members demonstrate a commitment to conserving and developing a valuable arts and learning resource. The funds we donate are of unrestricted use, giving the Ashmolean flexibility to apply funds where the need is greatest, in order to fulfil its vision. This includes the resources to:
• Display, conserve, and make accessible the Museum’s collections
• Continue to provide educational and outreach work with people of all ages and backgrounds
• Provide first-class academic teaching and scholarship
• Establish public lecture and seminar programmes
• Deliver first-class academic teaching and research
