Role:

The Service Engineer role is offered as a full-time role in the business to carry out the both maintenance and support of Chris Lewis Smart Home and 3rd party installations of Audio Visual, Lighting Control, Heating Control, Network, Home Automation and Cinema systems throughout domestic and commercial premises. Also to perform installation duties for service “small” works installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To work on-site as a residential and commercial AV installation Engineer, working on a wide range of projects within the installation team, within a given timeframe
  2. To provide support of home automation and audio-visual systems installed in the field. Including support takeovers of 3rd party installations.
  3. General installation and cabling work including mounting of projectors, TVs and speaker systems
  4. Keep up-to-date on technical requirements and industry standards, identifying training needs
  5. To work with and modify installation drawings, schematics and system audit documentation
  6. Ensuring systems are installed to a professional level and that all work carried out is to our design and client’s needs.
  7. Ensuring issues are dealt with correctly and efficiently and report/escalate where required.
  8. Identifying opportunities and generating leads for system upgrades and maintenance support contracts
  9. Contact with customers, visiting customer premises where care must be taken at all times to respect the client’s property and confidentiality, and ensure the right company image is portrayed

Reporting Lines:

Reports to the Operations Manager

Key interdependencies / collaborations with other teams in the organisation:

Project Managers, Service Coordinator, Service Engineer

Qualifications/Knowledge:

Must hold a full valid driving licence for the UK

Control4 Automation Programmer – essential

Lutron Homeworks QS – essential

Lutron Quantum – desirable

CEDIA ESC-T (or equivalent) – desirable

AMX and Crestron programming knowledge – advantageous

 Skills:

Must have a good working knowledge of home automation, audio visual, networking and/or general electronics

Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows & Office products

Experience:

At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role

Physical requirements:

May be required to work at height and use power and hand tools. Some heavy lifting is required in relation to the safe installation of large/heavy items. May need to work outside on external systems and minor groundworks

Working environment:

Working on commercial and residential building sites, as well as finished buildings. Some office based work as required. Travel between sites in a company vehicle. Work completion via electronic call dockets. Some out of hours working as per the On-Call rota.
