About our apprenticeships

Our apprenticeship programme complies with the national criteria set by the Department of Education and Employment. The apprenticeships include:

  • An integrated programme of vocational training, work based skill development and appropriate vocational education.
  • Training provided against an agreed training plan and underpinned by a training agreement between the employer, trainee and the supporting LLSC (where appropriate).
  • Training to the appropriate NVQ Level.
  • Trainees enjoy employed status with the company.
  • The provision of knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety regulations and procedures appropriate to the security industry.

Pay

All our apprenticeship roles will be paid £5.50 per hour

Meeting the New Fire and Security Apprenticeship standard

Launched in February 2017, as part of the Government’s Trailblazer Initiative, key industry stakeholders have developed a Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Technicians Apprenticeship. The new standard is now a Level 3 Apprenticeship with a choice of Pathways, a Core Module and an End Assessment.

80% of the training will happen ‘on the job’ through experience and mentoring. 20% of the Apprenticeship will be knowledge based.

Chris Lewis Fire & Security apprentices are among the best in the country and have been recognised through the following awards.

Chris Lewis Fire & Security apprentice installers were placed in the top five in this national competition. Two of our apprentice engineers also won the security industry’s Apprentice Skills Challenge – a testament to the quality of training and support that they have received.

Engineering Apprentices

We are looking for apprentices in Smart Homes and in Fire & Security

Apprenticeship Job Description

The successful candidate will  work within our team of installation and service engineers. You will learn to fit and service fire and security systems in domestic and commercial environments. You will help our engineers carrying out work on intruder alarms, CCTV, fire protection systems and access control.

You will be required to adhere to safe working practices, be able to take instructions and act upon them in a prompt and professional manner. You will attend college on a day release basis during college term time.

£5.50 per hour

Qualifications required

At least three GCSE’s grade C or equivalent including English and Maths, and be IT literate.

Sales Admin and Customer Services Apprentices 

We are looking for 1  Sales Admin apprentice and 1 in Customer Services.

Job Description

These two apprenticeships are exciting opportunities for anyone wishes to develop their office skills. the positions offer variety and the chance o learn about administration, sales, telephone,  and all about the fire and security industry.

£5.50 per hour

You will be given training and learn how to carry out duties which may include:

  • Administration
  • Answering the phone
  • Making appointments
  • Using the database
  • Invoicing
  • Sales
  • Product Knowledge
  • Delivering excellent customer service

You will be learning and working within strict Health and Safety Guidelines.
