Buckinghamshire Sports Centre Construction Site

The contractors wanted a security system that wouldn’t just protect the site retroactively and record crimes taking place, so they could be reported later. On top of that, this system wouldn’t just be used for monitoring the construction site. It needed to go on to form an integral part of the completed sports centre’s security solution.

Chris Lewis Group designed and installed a sophisticated outdoor surveillance setup consisting of CCTV columns holding both fixed and Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) cameras.

The PTZ cameras covered every angle of the site, giving the connected third-party monitoring station the ability to actively deter antisocial and criminal behaviour. Using built-in AI video analytics, the monitoring station could detect out-of-hours trespassing, loitering, unregistered vehicles and crowding in real-time. With a horn attached to each column, trespassers could be warned verbally before further action is taken.

Using a fibre network backend, we created a resilient system that would be protected against interference and that could adapt to changes in light levels to keep the site safe at night. Our engineers also created a 4G link to the client’s main office so management could review live CCTV footage through their smart devices – both on- and off-site. Finally, the whole system was fully backed up with Easy Archive Search, so individuals could be quickly searched for by their appearance and incidents could be found instantly, with no need to scroll through hours of footage.
